Bug and constructive critisim

Hey wadjeteye games,

I saw the quicklook of gemini rue on giant bomb and it intrigued me enough to just fire off a quick 15 buxx and give it a whirl. While on the phone with kenneth the game went south and presented the following text:

Illegal exception
An exception 0xC0000094 occurred in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x00413214 ; program pointer is +332, ACI version 3.21.1111, gtags (6,0)

AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal. Please note down the numbers above, remember what you were doing at the time and post the details on the AGS Technical Forum.

in "GlobalScript.asc", line 11948

Most versions of Windows allow you to press Ctrl+C now to copy this entire message to the clipboard for easy reporting.

An error file CrashInfo.dmp has been created. You may be asked to upload this file when reporting this problem on the AGS Forums. (code 0)

Also - a little constructive criticism. To make the game flow a little faster over all I would suggest implementing the following improvements:

- Double clicking on an exit point should either get our avatar to move his butt faster, or just instantly jump to the destination.

- The interface for interacting and using item is small. Too small. I know the resolution isn't high exactly, but I have to *work* to make sure I hit "talk" and not "hand". There's no reason for that.

- Finally, clicking on the vendor in the start of the game gets azriel to walk into the alley behind him. At least the 2nd time azriel is on the planet. Should be fixed...

Now that that's over with - I'd just like to say I'm enjoying the game so far and I definitely do not regret spending 15 bucks on it. Keep up the good work!

Gaz out...

Hi Gazoo,

Thanks for the report and the constructive feedback.

Do you remember when exactly the game crashed in the conversation with Kenneth? Was a dialog option clicked, or was this during a specific moment after calling?

Hey Josh,

Darnit... No... I don't remember... I will try to remember if it happens again.

Also - I did notice that the fast forward functionality is revealed after a while using the "esc" button. It's a feature I much appreciate being there - but it is kind of unwieldy to use the keyboard along side the mouse. There are also certain instances where the fast forward does something more annoying than useful, but I cannot accurately describe them from memory. I'll let you know when I observe it again...

Again - Enjoying the game a whole lot!
