Stuck in the machine
« on: May 31, 2010, 08:56:40 PM »
This is really frustrating because I appear to have finished the present-making machine puzzle, but I can't figure out how to leave!  I tried standing on the conveyor belt on which the boxes are made, but that doesn't work.  The "hint" only says "everything is working" and "these boxes are the only way out", but I can't get into the boxes to get out...   ???

Hey Webgrunt!  I recognize you from the Whisper of a Rose forums. Welcome.

Let's see... maybe the hint system is reading things out of order.  Are all the robots activated and free to move around?  I.e., is Bomchelle off the top shelf and is Kelvin out from behind the glass door?

Hey, Dave!   Nice to see you here!
Yes, that's all correct.  Bombschelle is on the top shelf and Kelvin has escaped the glassed-in area.

By the way, did you create this game?  It's awesome!  There are so many nice little touches that add charm and character to it.  The story is very good and so are the characters!

Aha.  There you go.  If Bomchelle is on the top shelf you need to get her off.  The bots won't leave another bot behind. :)  Move her to the top of the stack of flat boxes.  When the machine reaches down to take one, it will take her down with it.

Yeah, I do believe the hints are broke.  I've got Bomschelle down, and the robots are ready to go, but the mail slot can't be opened from this side.  I click hint and it hints to me that the machine needs to be rigged to run on its own, but I already tied the lever with the string and the machine is running.  I figured out how to escape of course (the last hint told me) but just wanted to give you the info.

My wife and I programmed it and we got the voice recording done, but the game design is all Erin Robinson..  I'm glad you enjoy it!
