Issues with TechnoBabylon on a Win8 Tablet
« on: July 02, 2015, 03:45:21 PM »
Hi community,

I am trying to get TechnoBabylon running on my Lenovo Miix2 Win8 tablet. Basically it runs quite ok, once I get it started. Unfortunately getting it started turns out to be very tricky, as it checks for a connected mouse, and won't start without it.

Is there anyone who tried this before and has any hints for me how to e.g. emulate a mouse (so the game starts and I can just control it with touch), or is there a switch in the .cfg-file that deactivates this check?

A patch that just disables this check (or replaces it with a warning, that the game might not run as expected without a mouse connected) would also be great, as I am totally hooked to this game and would love to play it when I am commuting to work  ;)

Best regards
Christoph

Can't try this myself, as I don't have a Windows tablet, but this thread: https://forum.beyond3d.com/threads/windows-8-fake-mouse-driver-for-tablet.55191/#post-1773979   says "Enabling "mouse keys", a Windows accessibility feature, allows games to detect a mouse on touch devices."

Here's the link to enable "mouse keys": http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windows8/use-numeric-keypad.aspx

And here's a Wadjeteyegames thread from the Gemini Rue section on a similar subject: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/forum/index.php?topic=1883.0

Thanks for the hint!  :)

Unfortunately this one I tried already. Even if it works for some programs, it doesn't work with DirectInput (at least not on my tablet; maybe because the screen-keyboard has no Num-pad?)

It might be a necroposting, but Logitech gaming software centerv installs driver which passes as mouse.
I used it with TouchMousePointer to launch Shardlight. Seriously, this mouse check just should be off...

P.S.: second series of 5 robot checks is overkill.

Can anyone tell me how I can get this game into full screen? I'm running it on a 5:4 monitor, which might be the problem tellpopeyes.
