Saves Not Working
« on: January 17, 2014, 09:37:56 AM »
I recently got the game on Steam, so I followed the wiki and copied the save games from the non-steam saves location the steam folder (Yes I moved them to \Steam\steamapps\common\Gemini Rue\Saves) the game found the save games, but whenever I load them I get the (error: restore_game: Game has changed (dlg), unable to restore. Is it possible to recover them somehow?

It sounds like the version you have is incompatible with the Steam version. Sadly, it is a downside of the AGS engine (which we use to make most of our games) where savegames become unusable between versions. Not long ago I posted some compatible savefiles that you can use for the Steam version. You can find them in this thread: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/forum/index.php?topic=1150.0

Thank you for the quick reply. Well I guess I'll just replay it. Do you know which one of them will take me to the spaceship where they meet his brother or something like that? I forgot if it was a spaceship or a plane tbh haha.

The savefiles are pretty clearly labelled, so it should be able to take to the point - or at least CLOSE to the point - where you left off. Let me know if you have trouble!
