I would like to be a Beta Tester

Since the age of 16 I liked the idea of helping developers to make better products looking for bugs. When I have the chance to get into a Feedbackable beta product I'm there. Even the last year I dropped intentionally every app at the university, as a way to help Programming Students with the Software Fair prototypes.

I would like to help testing products in WadjetEye Games. The only problem is, I'm in Chile.

Location is not a problem! I usually post ads for beta testers on facebook and twitter when I need them, which will probably be in a few weeks. So if you subscribe to either of those feeds, you can give me a shout when the time comes.

How much technical knowhow does one have to be in order to be a beta tester? I'm not much of a techie and and wouldn't be able to comment on finer details of coding and such, but I would be glad to help test games from the standpoint of story, gameplay, etc. I'll keep my eyes out for the next call, too.

Zero technical knowledge. We just want to know how the game is to play. Did you have fun? Did you get stuck? And most importantly, a list of all the bugs you found!

I'm currently beta testing The Samaritan Paradox for Andail but unless it's a very tight deadline I could help with the Shiva also, I've played the original version.

There are two Shivah betas running, one for PC and one for iOS.

The iOS one is for people who want to test our iOS games in general - we will have several games coming out this year. Apple only allows us up to 100 beta testers for a year, so if anyone drops out we can't replace them. If you can commit to testing all this year on iOS (we will have another 5 or so games that will need testing) I can add you to that beta, but if not, the PC beta test is open to all, no commitments needed.

Sorry it's complicated! I'd like to welcome all to the iOS beta test, but Apple thinks differently.

Which beta would you prefer, PC or iOS? If iOS, what device do you have?

I tried running the iOS runtime but at 2G touch does not work (mostly due to apple making all new apps compiled only run on the newer versions of the OS, I actually got it to run but not in any way that would be relevant to you since only hacked and jailbroken versions would work not the one you sell.  I'm available for the pc versions of games, running on an Asus laptop model N61J, I7 intel, ATI Mobility HD 5730, windows 7 currently installed.

iOS is the only option available to me at present--the only PC I have access to is my one at work, which it would obviously not be good form to beta-test computer games on. As far as devices go, I have an iPhone 4S (running iOS 7 as of yesterday) and a 1st-generation iPad. Would those work?

Was listening to a Dave Gilbert interview yesterday on the Grey Area podcast. Inspired me to come here and volunteer for beta testing. If there's still room, I'd be interested in beta testing the PC version of Shivah.
