Question about playing with Steam
« on: December 05, 2012, 11:48:29 PM »
If we go ahead and play using the downloaded version and we later install the game using steam will we be able to transfer our saves and still receive steam achievements? Or will we have to start over?

I've been wondering the same thing too, though I suspect the answer is no.  :'(

Spent all day yesterday waiting for the download link before realizing that the 5th in Japan is NOT the 5th in America - oops xD - and then when I woke up this morning and began the extremely slow download, it occurred to me that I probably shouldn't start playing until the Steam keys come through.
So it looks like I'll be waiting until the 7th to play.  *laughs*

That would suck as I don't want to wait to play :(. I've gotten as far as I was in the demo and decided to call it quits until there is a confirmed answer or we get our Steam keyes. Either way achivements are too important but it would be nice to have them since we get to play it on steam anyway.

I don't really care about achievements, but I thought we'd get the Steam keys pretty soon, so I'd just wait for it.

He said on Twitter it would be today, so I'll just be patient. Does it have cloud synced save files? That would be neat!

Woke up to the email about Steam keys and was excitedly ready to go and get this game started - and play it continuously until I finish, of course - when I realized... no keys yet.  That's what I get for getting excited before reading the email!  *laughs*

Got my key  ;D
So did I.
And to answer the OP: I was able to import my save in Steam but it didn't unlock all the achievements I got while playing the DRM-free version.
I guess I'll start over. It should be fast now that I know what to do. ;D

Congratulations everyone on getting your keys! ^-^
I'm refreshing my e-mail a couple of times a minute (even though gmail refreshes on its own) waiting for mine!  Hopefully I'll have good news soon!  ;D

Edit : Just got my key too!  Thanks so much Dave for getting these out to us quickly!

Seriously, it was 17 minutes between my "Sure I'd love a Steam key, no rush tho, it's all good." and Dave's reply delivering the goods.   :o   Dave is a beast.
