Steam key for boxed buyers?

I just wondered if there is any possibility of us boxed version buyers getting a steam key without rebuying the game? I like the portability of just being able to go into a random internet café to continue my game. I know you did it with gog.com, so I thought I'd ask.

To my knowledge, gog.com preorders did not get a Steam key (or if I was supposed to get one, it never came.)

GoG is a competitor of Steam, so they probably wouldn't want to send customers over there. But I have their permission to give Steam codes to anyone who asks for it, provided you can give me proof of purchase (e.g., your GoG order receipt)
