Tracing Ed's phone
« on: July 08, 2012, 01:23:46 AM »
He always hangs up before Bennet can trace him. I know that if I use more than 2 responses from the same tactic (2 aggressive or 2 interrogative) that he'll hang up, but I've tried alternating between approaches and nothing works.
I'm tired of wasting time being stuck on this puzzle. Help!

Well, your initial approach is kind of wrong, since he doesn't necessarily hang up if you use three of the same. As a matter of fact, you have to do that ;)

As far as I can tell, you're right that you can only use two aggressive.  You can finish the trace using only two interrogative if you choose the right ones.  Did you notice a couple of the interrogative questions open up a new question?  You want to ask that one as soon as possible.

Solution:
Once you go interrogative, first ask who he's working for OR why he did it.  That should add an option to ask about Amul and Reno.  Use that and you should finish the trace before he hangs up.

Make sure not to (hint) threaten him by saying your on his train or threaten his life.

Try to pay attention to what works and what doesn't and hopefully you'll get it soon. Try not to give up.  ;D

Good luck, I found this one impossible to work out by myself.
