Kinda big issue with save files on Steam
« on: June 29, 2012, 08:17:04 PM »
Namely, the save files are accessed differently, depending on whether you started the game inside Steam or out.

Unlike some other Steam AGS titles (Been There Dan That/TGP for example), these have no configuration option available in Steam.  So I ended up configuring the game first off in the folder itself, then played it directly from there.  Now while I'm trying to play it through Steam, I only have access to the default autosave, which it says it is unable to load.  The game (apparently) has no Steam DRM, or non-working Steam DRM, but it is still aware of the game being loaded outside of Steam.

I'm not sure if it's a matter of the folder pointers being wrong (gemini rue/saves vs. gemini rue/reslists/saves), but it seems like loading the game in Steam may be looking for the former while the game itself looks for the latter.  Either way, a bit strange.

Edit: Yep, copying the files to the base gemini rue/saves folder makes it work properly in Steam, and it's also now syncing properly.
