Easter Eggs?
« on: June 28, 2012, 02:03:13 PM »
So who's found any in-jokes, references or hidden easter eggs yet?

Only one I've found so far was 'The Last Will and Testament of Manuel Calavera' in the police station.

Any more?

Obvious: President Bruckman and his son Linus. Self-references are the best references.

There's a movie poster on the subway train for Rezonator 3, an obviously parody mash-up of Resonance and Terminator 3. Later on, I think maybe during the stakeout scene, a van drives past and it has the same poster on it.

There's some mythology references, too: Antevorta is a Roman goddess of the future. Juno is less clear cut, but she's meant to be a very ambigious goddess that can be good or bad, kinda like the Resonance technology, right?

I also couldn't help but see Ozzy's Wizard of Oz shtick as linked to Emerald City Confidential, also by Wadjet Eye Games.

Is it? I would have thought Antevorta comes from the German noun Antwort (or Antworten), meaning "answers".

Well they were going to use Antevorta to predict the future, remember. But yeah, look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antevorta

I forget how to get this one, but if you have Ray ask about the paintings in the hospital basement you learn they were painted by Claude Urdin (from Blackwell Convergence). This is in-jokey on a few levels, since Daryl Lathon played both Ray and Claude.

if you log into the avorta computer terminal as 'dcage' all the mails are about hair regrowth and a mailing list for "stupid endings", wonder who that can be?
