Save files Resonance
« on: June 19, 2012, 06:46:13 PM »
Hi everyone!
I've just finished the demo and decided to buy the full game, but i'm experiencing a problem with my save files:
when i try to load the save and autosave the game immediatley crashes, both on the version via steam and the one i downloaded directly from the browser.
Since i f**ked up the autosave file, starting a new game, i was wondering if anyone was kind enough to mail me the save files from right where the demo finished or give me some other solution... thanks again

Look here:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/resonance/do_we_get_to_keep_our_save_from_the_demo

There's a link to a zip file that includes a savegame right to the end of the demo, you only have to type in the right numbers.

It also explains why you messed up your own save files: The demo saves are not compatible with the full version, hence the savegame download.

Sorry about this. The AGS engine tends to hate savegames from previous versions of the same game, which is why the demo saves won't work. The engine does a lot of things right (and enables us to make these games in the first place!) but it gets a few things really wrong and this is one of them. :(

The saved game file doesn't work for me. Resonance can't even find it when I launch it. I followed the instructions. This game is beginning to sour on me.

Hi Greybeard. Could you tell me where did you put the savegame file? And are you playing the GoG version or the direct download version?

I had the same problem until I renamed the file from "agssave" to "agssave.001" which made it show up on the load screen.

Really? Gah. GoG must have changed the filename or something. I've uploaded the correct file (with the correct filename) >here<

Looks that way.  The DL from GOG (http://items.gog.com/resonance_save.zip) gives you an agssave file with "File" under the title.  Yours has "001 File" under the file title.

Good luck, zabby :D. I read your post of the savefile issues, so I just uninstalled the demo and installed the game. Thank you for your informative post. I just completed the 4 scenarios and it was just as fun, but easier this time! ;D

Thanks Dave. The file you uploaded that I retrieved from your post works fine. Wow! I didn't know AGCS was so touchy.

Tried both the save files linked in this thread, but for some reason neither work. I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm not using the GOG version - I bought my version direct from this website...

Here's the message I'm getting - http://screencast.com/t/qRm4E1tAN

Can someone upload a version of the save which was made with the version of the game that you get from here? Thanks!
