Chapter 1
« on: May 30, 2012, 11:28:02 PM »
I just downloaded the Resonance demo from the GoG website, and I'm liking what I see so far.  Great story, dialogue, and voice acting.  The controls are a little clunky. In particular the drop-down buttons in the inventory menu are too small, and keeping the menus open requires a delicate touch.  But this is nitpicking.  Based on what I've seen so far, this game has the potential to be a classic!  Nice work landing the voice actor from Bastion, by the way.  I could listen to that guy read a phone book and not get bored  :D

It is a very good demo. I liked the twist how, after the apartment, you get to choose which of the 4 simultaneous scenes you get to continue on. My complaint there is that once I choose a path, I can't go pause and go back. (I eventually got past the part I was having trouble on, but I still would've liked to have been able to switch scenes.)

The death scene is sort of interesting. I wonder if that rewinding is an effect of Resonance, or just The Powers That Be being generous. I also took advantage of the preview video for the scene by Juno. I'm not sure if I would have gotten through that section as easily if I hadn't seen it already.

Any pointers how to get the wrench in the lab? I'm guessing Saul still has it, but he keeps telling me its in the Maintenance Room, which it isnt! (That I can see anyway!)

Highlight to view the hint!

Did you talk to Saul about how he escaped from the lab? You can use LTMs on people as well as STMs.

Make sure you ask him about the valve first.

As a bit of fun, compare the differences in the story between having Ed and Bennett asking about the fire. It's a nice little subtlety that makes this game enriching.

Also, in addition to Dave's hints you'll need to have open the maintenance closet first. Of course, this only really applies to Ed.

Easy enough! Use the jar on the vent, then left-click on the jar itself. Then use the peso on the vent.

Alternate possibility: check out your long term memory about the treasure. You've got some time after you get under the bed.

In the first five minutes with the panel puzzle I thought "what a stupid annoying puzzle"; when I finished it I was like "what a cool and clever puzzle!!!!".

Ok, finished the demo and pre-ordered on gog. Good job WEG guys, you're currently the best adventure game company, in my opinion. I know about all the fuss over Double Fine, even Tell Tale but really, fuss means nothing. Keep it up!!!!

Hey,

I tried the demo a bit and at first I was a bit lost with this Short term and long term memory thing but I think I'm getting the hang of it now. Although I'm still wondering if it doesn't make thing too complicated.

But I posted because I'm stuck in the Antevorta office, where I should find a file, but it isn't in the cabinet or the mainframe and the file on the table isn't clickable. Can somebody give me a little hint?

Hi Killerog. Did you get access to the mainframe yet? If so, there's someone you need to look up (the name is in your phone).
