As I recall, that combat isn't really any harder than any other in the game. Have you tried turning the difficulty down all the way? That might help. I'm assuming, based on your comment, that you are having trouble instead of some kind of bug or error.
Another trick to try and remember is that you can both switch sides you're shooting from and which one you're aiming at. It's been too long since I've used the controls, so keep at it. I have faith in you.
