Please upload updated version to Indie Royale and/or Desura

It's great that the Steam version works now, but I wanted to play on my laptop while someone else was running Steam on my PC, and neither Desura nor Indie Royale seem to have the updated version of the game, as both have the freezing up with the rain plug in at the start still.

Most (all?) of the AGS games work just fine without Steam.  In lieu of an updated Indie Royale/Desura build, I bet you can just launch the game from the other computer's Steam folder.  <steam folder>\steamapps\common\gemini rue\reslists\Gemini Rue.exe

This was our fault, I'm afraid. The rain fix was implemented at the same time as the Steam integration, and extricating the Steam stuff once we added it has been a bit of a challenge. Oddly enough, nobody has voiced a complaint yet (until now!) so we never made it a priority. I guess most people are buying the game on Steam. We'll definitely get to this, but in the meantime you can do what epmode suggested.
