Chit Chat! / Police Quest Series?
« on: September 17, 2017, 03:20:18 PM »
I absolutely love the Police Quest series, it's my favorite series of all time and I think Police Quest 2 might be my favorite game ever.

Every few years it seems like there's either going to be a remake of PQ2, an unofficial sequel or a "spiritual successor"... there's a few weeks or months of hype and then the project dies.

Sometimes I wonder what kind of story I could put together in the Police Quest universe, and I think I have some decent ideas, but I totally lack the programming or art ability to do anything with it.

While we certainly have no shortage of modern point and click games with engaging and original stories, I would love for more Police procedural action. Anyone else feel this way?

A Golden Wake / Connection to A Previous Game... Back Door Man!
« on: September 10, 2017, 02:32:06 PM »
I was messing around the other day looking for games on AGS and I found Back Door Man, a game where you play a male prostitute in Miami.

At one point the main character says he was born and raised in Miami and his grandfather moved from the Northeast in the early 20's. At the end of the game, if you screw up an earlier scene the character is arrested and his last name is Banks.

I played this game years ago, and then played it again just yesterday and laughed at the connection.

Chit Chat! / What if?

What if I had an idea for a game but no artistic talent or programming know how?

Technobabylon / This game is a masterpiece

Seriously, best point and click game I've ever played. Amazing pacing, great story and it keeps the player guessing.

A Golden Wake / Bookshelf Puzzle (Spoilers)
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:50:26 AM »
I'm at the hotel and into the party but I can't figure out the puzzle with the bookshelf. I've tried using chronology, colors of the books, sorting them by nationality of the authors... I'm stuck. Any hints?

Chit Chat! / New Fan...

I just discovered the Blackwell games a couple weeks ago and have now completed the series. I also played Gemini Rue and Resonance. I missed these old point and click games. A Golden Wake looks amazing as well but now I'm afraid that the ending will be depressing. Will it turn out the main character is a serial killer with amnesia who realizes he only wants to develop Coral Gables to unearth bodies of his victims before they're found by the authorities?

The Blackwell series / Really Tragic Ending...
« on: October 04, 2014, 01:38:58 AM »
All the Blackwell women died these horrible tragic deaths... now Joey is in New York with probably no money, no place to go, no ID, no job history and no marketable skills...

He's in the process of forgetting everything about his time with the Blackwells and as a ghost so that means he's forgetting his old life...

It just seemed like a really sad, unhappy ending. After discovering these games and binge playing them, I'm sorry to say I was a bit disappointed.
