Resonance / Re: Odd question RE: boxed edition contents
« on: September 16, 2012, 02:21:19 PM »
Well, "style 3" is not AGS but gool old Flight of the Amazon Queen. And "style 1" seems to be some free indy game called "Reactor 09" made by Berni-Origamihero.

Gemini Rue / Re: Save files?
« on: August 23, 2012, 03:21:48 AM »
I have just found a bad thing about saves of both Gemini Rue and Resonance. I used to play them on Windows 7, and save files were indeed located in C:\Users\*My Username*\Saved Games. Unfortunately, I had some problems with Windows 7, and now have switched to Windows XP on the same PC.
And I can no longer load those save files! Neither of the two games seems to see those files wherever I place them.
If I start a new game and save it, both Gemini Rue and Resonance save it to "C:\Documents and Settings\*My Username*\*My Documents*\My Saved Games\", but if I try to load it back, there are no save files visible in the game!
Probably, the problem is that *My Documents* folder is written in Cyrillic letters, so the game can write to it but cannot read it, - but that is a feature of Windows XP that cannot be changed easily... Never had such problems before though. Dave, maybe there is some key to run with the game executable file in order to tell it to look for saved games somewhere else??

Upd.: Well, solved the problem by setting a Windows-98 compatibility mode for both *.exe files. Now the games see their saved files in C:\Documents and Settings\*My Username*\*My Documents*\My Saved Games!

Resonance / Re: when will achievements unlock?
« on: June 22, 2012, 09:58:36 AM »
Are you sure your achievements are locked? I play the Steam version, and all Steam achievements appear quite correctly as soon as I do achieve them in game :) (You can even see it online).

Resonance / Re: Window mode?

You can also go to your Steam Resonance folder (something like C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Resonance) and manually run winsetup.exe there to choose options like 'run in a window' etc.

Resonance / Re: Problem With Digital Download
« on: June 20, 2012, 12:30:39 AM »
It seems that many people have the same problem  - there was no download link with the purchase receipt from BMT Micro. Still, everyone has the Steam code, and you can have the GoG code as well (you have to write Dave and ask for that), so I think that the missing direct link is not really necessary.

Could not find the soundtrack in www.wadjeteyegames.com store, but just got it for free with Bundle In a Box purchase. Great music!

Resonance / Re: Resonance Demo

Well I did do quite a bit of writing in the later half of the game (as did Janet), although the design and plot was all Vince. :)
Yes, now I see! That Ed guy seems to be very similar to Petra's brother... :)

Did you get the book out from underneath the chunk of debris? There's a clue in the book (or rather, the piece of paper inside the book)
Oh, I didn't even know there was a clue in some book, just found the clue on the keypad itself...
A great demo in fact - I did not intend to buy the game, as it is not made by Dave Gilbert himself, but now I have certainly changed my mind! :)

The Blackwell series / Re: Steam achievements not working?
« on: January 24, 2012, 02:03:44 PM »
Just found a small error while collecting all the achievements: 'Art Medium' in Convergence (Convince Frank that you are an artist on your first try) actually requires Rosa to convince Claude, not Frank!
