Wow, the spammers are spamming in the 'Spam' topic. Now. that's nice  :D

Technobabylon / Re: Alternative font?
« on: February 21, 2016, 11:57:54 PM »
I don't think there is an official way to change fonts.
But there was an unofficial trick that worked for me at least on earlier AGS games.
You can try if you want! Just choose some other font you like, place it in the game directory - and name it agsfnt1.ttf and/or agsfnt2.ttf, agsfnt3.ttf, agsfnt4.ttf. One of those names could work (or not).

The Blackwell series / Re: Dave, did you become Joseph Mitchell?
« on: January 04, 2016, 02:13:54 AM »
Dave, thank you very much for the great news! The game looks very interesting, especially considering it being set in the same world as 'Blackwell'. I hope we would be able to meet Joey there :)

Will 'Unavowed' happen before or after 'Automaticity'? As publishing the latter one would require you to focus on its launch as well, I guess.

Just please do not ban actual users :)

Of all forums I use, this was the most difficult to register at, and after that I had been banned here two times without any reason... It's very strange that so many spammers still come here with all those security measures.

Other Games / Re: Da New Guys and Das Olde Desura

Don't wait for Playfirst Steam sale - that will probably never happen as Playfirst PC-gaming is dead for several years already.

"Emerald City Confidential" is the first Wadjet Eye game I have played - and still my favourite even after Blackwells and Technobabylon :)

Other Games / Da New Guys and Das Olde Desura
« on: June 06, 2015, 07:53:27 AM »
'Da New Guys' is the only not-on-Steam game by Wadjet Eye Games, if I am not mistaken.
I own it on Desura - but the recent news suggest that Desura is going to close its doors soon. And Dave Gilbert said he would not deal with Desura any more quite some time ago - there were indeed no more Wadjet Eye games published there since 'Primordia'.

I can still download 'Da New Guys' on Desura for now - but are there any plans for getting it to Steam, in case that platform will be shut down? I think Wadjet Eye Games have proved their quality well enough not to be admitted through Steam Greenlight only?

I had the same problem once :)
But you can actually use wetware on the guard in the window up there...

Sam37, I agree - that behaviour was very impolite on Latha's part.
But I never had any 'empathy' for Latha, so it did not surprise me so :)

She is anti-social, wild and rude brat from the very beginning. When she is locked in CEL cell, all she wants is her precious trance - she does not demonstrate any kindness towards that fellow city-kid officer or the Guy - their relations are only pure business to her. And when she meets Jinsel woman - she is easily gotten into being manipulated. She does anything Jinsil asks her again and again - without getting much in return. So she is not only unpleasant to deal with, but quite stupid as well.

So, I can only hope she is actually softened and smartened in the end - and that living and working with such kind and smart father as Charlie could make a good person out of her after all.

Technobabylon / Re: Technobabylon Mysteries *SPOILERS*

   * Why was Galatea trying to blow up Latha? Without Latha to connect all the stolen minds to Central, all her plotting has been for nothing. (It doesn't seem possible that Kriesel, even ridden by Baxter, is acting on his own- he's talking about the plan with Galatea even as it happens).

RedRook is right - Galatea was actually mad at Kriesel because he wanted to murder Latha out of revenge and she wanted her alive for her own plans. He is talking about the plan with Galatea - but their plans as for Latha are quite different!

*Regis rules out Stepford and his boys for the  restaurant bombing because the magnetic field in the kitchen shuts-down synths, and the waiter was killed in the kitchen. But surely it was the Bio-bomber who killed the waiter and took his clothes. Councilman Deane may have been a bit of a rotter, but I don't see him murdering a civilian face-to-face, stripping him naked, and tossing the body on a hook.
I don't think it was the Biobomber. They are poor youth who can sacrifice themselves for the greater goal, you know, but not murder other people. Deane was capable of planning to blow up several persons, wasn't he? And he decieved the biobomber with writing him that action would be a noble and holy deed. So, I think it was he who murdered the waiter.

*A shame Baxter didn't have more faith in himself. He kills Viksha because he thinks the failure of the project will make him unhirable, but even as a murderer with training that's two decades out of date, Vickerman goes to considerable trouble to acquire his services, and many people still consider him to be the very brightest mind in the field.

You are right - I am sure that the whole idea of 'Baxter being mad at Regis'originates from the early version of the plot where it was Regis who had accidentally killed his wife - and framed Baxter for that, so Baxter wanted revenge. Later they decided Charles is not capable of such crime, but 'Baxter killing Viksha' and 'Baxter wanting to revenge Regis' are not very grounded motives either.

*I've heard internet rumors of a scene where Regis finds a girl trying to hang herself on Viksha's tree, and her portrait seems to show up in the concept art, but this scene didn't show up in my playthrough. Anyone know how to trigger it?

This scene was in Alpha - I had seen it there, but it was cut for a reason, as that girl had nothing to do with the main story. You can see her only on the original freeware edition of 'Technobabylon' I think.

Technobabylon / Re: Any (text) Walkthroughs Yet?
« on: May 24, 2015, 04:21:59 AM »
Where?  Is there a link to it?
I don't think there is a link yet - but the author did distribute 'the official' text walkthrough with early beta versions for testers. And I don't think it would be polite to put it online without James's approval.

Don't worry though - someone will write a WT soon :) For now - you can ask a question here or on Steam forums if stuck, and we'll certainly help you!

OK, I got it! Just a little bit of luck, probably.
And yes - I have played to Chapter 9 after that, and Latha still had that 'powerful anesthetic' with her in the syringe. Mysterious :)

Well, that's the one achievement I can't get :( About 20 games, and only two balls won (to 58 lost).
Is it actually possible to 'win a game of gravball without sabotaging your opponent'?

Besides, if Latha would succeed there without doing the drug sequence, how will she able to neutralize the guard in Chapter 9?

Technobabylon / Re: Game Opening in Window

Run winsetup.exe from the game's folder (and uncheck 'Run game in a window...' there)!

Technobabylon / Re: End game bugs fixed?
« on: May 22, 2015, 07:39:48 AM »
There were many bugs in the press-review version, commentaries did not work etc. The current Steam version was updated about half a day before the release - so those reviewers probably did not see it.

The game is out in Steam now!
