The Blackwell series / Re: Story Questions (Spoilers)
« on: April 27, 2014, 05:05:36 PM »
I'm still a little confused myself over the answer to question 2, but the answers to questions 1 and part of 3 are actually in the game (I haven't listened to the commentary either).

Not sure if if needs spoilers, but you can find the answers to questions 1 and 3ish by-
Talking to Madeline as Joey while she's possessing Rosa
- it's very easy to miss that conversation (I missed it the first time through). If you don't have a save around that time/want to know right away, specifically the answers are:
1. The shooter at the beginning is Michael Cooper/Madeline's Host. His soul was weak enough that she pushed him into it and left him not remembering what he did except for some guilt.
3. Joey became a spirit guide because he was the last ghost 'saved' before Madeline's host severed their connection. Since Madeline couldn't act as a spirit guide anymore, the job fell on him for whatever reason. Still not sure why Joey couldn't pass on at the end, though.

The Blackwell series / Re: Bug reports for Blackwell Epiphany
« on: April 26, 2014, 04:15:14 AM »
I had a rather weird bug or something of the sort that made me get stuck for a while (having to exit my game)

It's late-ish in the game, so spoilers-

When I got to the newsroom and confronted the guy about Tanya and Heather, once I got the three dialogue options that all essentially said they were the same person...
The dialogue wouldn't continue, and all I could do was ask the guy stuff from my notebook- I couldn't even exit the dialogue with him, as there were no other options besides opening the notebook.
For some reason, though, I went through and combined every notebook option together once I'd loaded a save from that part of the game, and once I confronted the guy again, the dialogue continued after the place where I'd gotten stuck. So... I'm not sure what went wrong. Maybe I made some sort of logic leap?

The Blackwell series / Re: Is Blackwell Deception Officialy Out Now?
« on: October 12, 2011, 02:48:59 PM »
Oh, nifty- I was all set to have to email because I didn't get a link to Deception... but thanks to this thread I went back to my old receipt-email from when I pre-ordered and there was a link that lead to it (used to lead to Convergence-only).
...so basically it's like the thread already said XD

Other Games / Downfall Walkthrough?
« on: August 25, 2009, 05:28:23 PM »
I bought Downfall just a while ago (yay, recommended games!) and before I settled in to play it I decided to look around for a walkthrough.  (Yes, I know I'm jumping the gun, but I like to have one handy if possible in case I get royally stuck and my internet is being spotty)   A preliminary google-search seems to imply that it comes with a walkthrough in the game directory itself... but either I'm missing something or there isn't one...  ???

Thank you so much- I did what you said and now it starts up just fine!  ;D

The Blackwell series / Can't Run Convergence
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:04:42 AM »
I pre-ordered Convergence and I think it downloaded/installed correctly (it was around 157 MB and I didn't get any errors while installing), but when I go to run it, it won't start.  Instead it gives me an error "There was a problem initializing graphics mode 640 x 400 (32-bit).  (Problem: 'Failed to create Direct3D Device: 0x8876086c')"

I have no idea what the problem could be- I've bought and played the other Blackwell games and Emerald City Confidential without any issues... I don't really know my specs, but I'm using Windows XP.
