Technobabylon / Re: Issues with TechnoBabylon on a Win8 Tablet
« on: July 04, 2015, 04:55:45 AM »
Can't try this myself, as I don't have a Windows tablet, but this thread: https://forum.beyond3d.com/threads/windows-8-fake-mouse-driver-for-tablet.55191/#post-1773979   says "Enabling "mouse keys", a Windows accessibility feature, allows games to detect a mouse on touch devices."

Here's the link to enable "mouse keys": http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windows8/use-numeric-keypad.aspx

And here's a Wadjeteyegames thread from the Gemini Rue section on a similar subject: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/forum/index.php?topic=1883.0

Technobabylon / Save Game Thumbnails
« on: June 27, 2015, 07:15:56 AM »
I've noticed than if I save thee game while playing in in window, the thumbnail is of a portion of my entire computer screen, rather than just the game window. Like pressing ctrl+printscreen instead of alt+printscreen. The thumbnail is fine when I save fullscreen.

Minor to be sure, in all the awesomeness that is Technobabylon. Another game, along with Blackwell, where I played the original games back before the commercial ones.

Blackstone? :P ;D

Anyway, this is a known bug....check out the possible workaround in this thread @ http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/forum/index.php?topic=1976.msg11753#msg11753

and in this Steam thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/236930/discussions/0/558754260106508519/

Workaround reposted here:

You know, someone else recently discovered this. We're going to fix it, but in the meantime there is a workaround. There's an invisible option underneath the "check your notes" option. If you click there, you can exit the option menu.

The Blackwell series / Re: Bug reports for Blackwell Epiphany
« on: May 06, 2014, 05:55:31 PM »
Not sure if this belongs in the Bug report thread. Did you speak with the cop at the police station? He should have given you "Karth Case Files" on your phone. In any case, if you don't have that on your phone anymore/at all, there is another way to get the sister's name (in fact the two different  ways are known to produce a bug- aka duplicate cell phone entry- if you use both). Once you  have the "Case #" (technically her parole #) just go on back to the police station and give it to the cop to look up.

I went to the cop, nothing i say to him makes him give me the "Karth Case Files" . The only two other places i can go to, aside from my home, the police department, and Fielding's apartment, are the gym and Grace School. And i obviously can't enter the gym without the card.

Peter's ghost doesn't know much, and Michael doesn't know anything about Peter. So what can i do? Even if there is another way, which i can't find, the fact that the Karth File isn't on my cellphone can be considered a bug, can't it?

You misread part of my post. There are two ways to find the Fielding sister's name:

1) compare the "Case #" file to the "Karth" file
2) Go to the police station and have the cop look up the "Case #" file'

have you tried the second one?

Also, just to be clear, the "Case #" file you are referring to, is the one you get by having Joey look at the papers in Fielding's apartment, right?

I need some help. To discover the identity of the woman living in Peter Fielding's apartment, i need to link the "Case #" file with the Karth one. But i don't have anything related to the Karth House on the cell phone, so i can't find out her name.
Is there any other way to discover who she is? I've exhausted all dialogue options with her, and tried talking to everyone else, but they know nothing.

I thought I'd post about a bug someone else encountered and posted about on the Steam forums because it seemed like a pretty big one:

BUG: walking with Kendra
If you ask Kendra to follow you  before you unlock the right location  you get stuck on the map. She won't let you go to any other location, and you can't use your inventory to unlock the requiered place, so there's no way out.

Wait...how'd you manage that?

You can't get Kenda to come with you unless you read the Trollgate chat logs, find her mother, and learn the prunes and danish password. Logging into Trollgate requires you to reset her password, which requires the spybot software to be on her dad's computer in his work office, which you can't get into without visiting his house and getting the code to his office door from the picture

Then something else went wrong:
the office door was open, I didn't have to find any code: I just clicked on it and walked in. I just thought the guy forgot to close the door and his house was a sad location where the wasn't anything useful.

Guess I'll have to go through every button combinations 1-9-*-#. Till I get it because it is impossible for me to figure it out. I see no 4 number code anywhere in this game.

maybe you should look at some more pictures. perhaps where the owner of the office lives.

if you don't have that location yet, didya forget spooks don't care about locks? Joey can go right on through.<-- hilight for spoiler

Also, the download speed probably doesn't have much to with Chrome, but rather whichever source/server you downloaded from and perhaps even your own internet connection. I use Chrome myself, and had no issues with the download.

But yeah, like Dave said, try redownloading it. Probably just didn't download right.

The mechanics of what to do; chalk circle + bit of essence was shown to us in the game, so it wasn't a big leap to figure that part out. Where, though, might not have been as apparent.

open game folder
right click on "acsetup.cfg" open with notepad

find out the  windowed=0
change the value to 1.

Enjoy window mode.

Or...open the game folder.

Open/run winsetup.exe

click the box next to "play in a window instead of fullscreen" so it's checked.

Close winsetup.exe or click "Save and Run".

Enjoy.

Resonance / Re: Achievement Help Please

If you already solved the puzzle box, you can't blackmail Tortoise anymore, at least not in that play through, since Tortoise is more than willing to talk to the guy/girl who solved it as soon as you show him Morales' will and death certificate and I think his finances too. He'll hand over the master keycard (which may already be in your inventory if already showed him the will and death certificate) and that's all you need.

Resonance / Re: Anyone managed 340/340 yet? (POSSIBLE SPOILERS!)
« on: June 28, 2012, 08:16:10 PM »
Somewhat on topic, I have a question on Anna's dream maze. On my play through, I missed the first memory and got the second and third, and after I got the third memory I dropped through the vent at the end which lands you back on the first level of the maze to get that missed first memory before exiting the maze. Now, since I got all three before exiting, I expected to receiving the dream maze achievement upon exiting. However, the achievement remains locked. Are you supposed to get the memories in order (1,2,3) in order to get the achievement? Or is there some sort of bug here?

I take it you've figured out the really easy way to get the achievement to do the box puzzle without any viewing aids? As in, save before it, do it with the x-ray thing and make a note of what you did, load the last save, follow your own instructions, then save again and repeat it for each side of the puzzle. I guess there'd be no other way apart from extreme luck and/or perseverance.

I actually naturally did the "Ray's kind of a jerk" achievement straight away, since as soon as Emma mentioned writing a rude email but not sending it, I thought "I bet you can send it when you hack into the PC" since there's no other reason for her to mention it, from a meta viewpoint, and it seemed like a kind of Deux Ex assholish thing to do when hacking into a computer. I love how it plays out later on, too.

There's another easy way to solve the puzzle box without the viewing aid too. There's a walkthrough on Gamezebo which features screenshot "maps" of the correct path to solve each side as seen through the viewing aid. Just view the walkthrough alongside the game (in window mode or something) and follow the path.

Just checking....but did you walk ALL the way to the left past the post office? (where you entered the screen). This area wasn't used the first time Bennet was in Edgetown, so it's easy to miss. The lone exit arrow is all the way to the left.

actually you want to go two letters forward and four numbers backward , so that would make O16.  That should work for you.
