Gemini Rue / Alternate Endings [SPOILER]
« on: December 10, 2011, 04:48:16 PM »
Here's how you can choose between the two slightly different endings. After you've "confronted" the Director, choose between Touching Suyuri or the Computer.

Which ever you do first changes the ending.

Weirdly, not bothering to check for vital signs in Suyuri and going for the Computer first gives you a slightly more satisfying ending, IMO.

Gemini Rue / Big Obvious Bug *minor spoilers*
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:06:49 AM »
Has there ever been an official statement from Dave or "JBurger" about the really massive bug that (just about) everyone experiences when they play Gemini Rue?

The first time you enter the Maintenance Room and have the long conversation with Giselle, you can walk through the door on the left wall, and suddenly jump a huge part of the story.

Just about everyone I've spoken to who has played this game experience the bug, and I've seen it mentioned many times here, too... but I've not seen a response from the makers of the game. Is there not a patch available?

I own the CD version and am running Windows 7 x64. Thanks!

The Blackwell series / Unbound: THAT puzzle! (spoilers)
« on: March 22, 2008, 12:03:25 PM »
I have to say, I'm loving Dave Gilbert's games. I've just bought and played (and completed) all three of them. I think The Shivah might still be the best, but that might be because I'm still waiting for the complete story to unfold in the Blackwell series. Actually, I'd happily play a full-length adventure based on the Blackwell story. There's so many unanswered questions!

Anyways, I digress. I just finished Unbound and I have to say that THAT puzzle, where you have to get Lauren to realise something that you've already realised (Alex can be girl's name, too) was very frustrating! :) It was almost as frustrating as realising you needed Joey to "interact" with the sheetmusic he'd only just described as completely unremarkable!

Still, I love the whole Blackwell universe and can't wait to learn more about the characters... What happens to Lauren, how did she end up the way she did? Why does Joey not want Lauren to get in touch with her brother? Will we ever learn what happened to The Countess's guide (or is it relevant)?

I love the way all three stories interact with each other (Note to Dave: Don't be afraid of pointing out connections to the player... it's hard to remember every little detail that has been mentioned!). I can't wait to learn the next piece of the story. I could keep playing both characters forever in little episodic games!

When does Convergence come out? I don't want to spoil it with the demo!

Another note to Dave: Two words; "pop shield"! (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may05/articles/popshields.htm?print=yes) PLEASE!

I'd love to play a full-length episode of the Blackwell story, where you could control all three women, and they'd somehow, subtly be inter-related stories in some way... even if it was just emotionally. That would be great!
