Unavowed / Humor and Jokes about Unavowed (Spoilers)
« on: August 16, 2018, 09:40:02 PM »
Television show:
A new collaboration is announced!  Nickelodeon and Wadjet Eye Games are proud to present a new television series decades in the making!  This wild new crossover is sure to please old school fans of the quality 1990's children's programming for which Nick is famous as well as new fans of interactive dark fantasy for which Wadjet Eye Games is renowned!

From co-executive producers Mitchell Kriegman and Dave Gilbert, Nickelodeon proudly presents... "Melkhiresa Explains It All!"  Airing nationwide this fall, Mel (as her friends call her) will explain everything about growing up as a human teenager with the nigh-infinite information of a seemingly all-knowing daemon!  Watch and laugh as she battles wits with her sassy, younger, know-it-all sister, Victoria ("Vicki")!  Be enthralled as Mel meets her handsome neighbors, Eli and Logan!  Will she fall for the handsome and kind blond, Eli, or his step-brother with the dark and mysterious past, Logan?

Viewers will participate like never before with this new, interactive show!  Each week, they will be asked to interact by voting online and via social media to choose which "ship" they like more: Meli or Mellogan!  At the end of the season, whichever couple has more votes will decide the season finale, choosing which boy Mel will share her first kiss with!

"Melkhiresa Explains It All" debuts September 19th on Nickelodeon at 5 P.M. Eastern Time.  Check with your satellite or cable television provider for times and availability.

Observation:
The male player-character ("false Melkhiresa") looks a lot like Nintendo of America's COO, Reggie Fils-Aimé.  See [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Fils-Aim%C3%A9 ] for a photograph to see what I mean!  Uncanny, eh?

Song:
Adapted from Portal 2's song, "Want You Gone."
https://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/p/portal_2/want_you_gone.html

Sung by the human with the wicked spirit to Melkhiresa.

Well here we are again.
It's always such a pleasure.
Remember when you tried
To exorcise me twice?
Oh how we laughed and laughed.
Except I wasn't laughing.
Under the circumstances
I've been shockingly nice.

You want your freedom?
Take it.
That's not what I was counting on.

I used to want you alive
But
Now I only want you gone.

She was a lot like you.
(Maybe not quite as heavy).
Now little KayKay is in here too.
One day I woke you up -
So I could live forever.
It's such a shame the same
Will never happen to you.

You've got your
Long sad
Life back.
That's what I'm counting on.
I'll let you get right to it -
Now I only want you gone.

Goodbye my only friend.
Oh, did you think I meant you?
That would be funny
If it weren't so sad.
Well you have been replaced.
I don't need anyone now.
When I release you perhaps
I'll stop feeling so bad.

Go make some new disaster.
That's what I'm counting on.
You're someone else's problem.

Now I only want you gone.
Now I only want you gone.
Now I only want you gone!

...And that's that!  If you have any good jokes or humorous writings or observations about Unavowed, then please share them here!

Other Games / Need a Hint? TV Remote
« on: March 02, 2012, 11:58:31 PM »
Sorry to say so, but I was at a point where I needed the television remote and Da New Guys was driving me batty.  Seems I'm not the only one, as the only mention of the TV remote I could find by conducting a Web search led to a review where the author had the same dilemma for a time.

How does one wrest the remote from the confines of the DNG's apartment?  Simon won't stop bugging the player to change the channels if you just try to leave.  Instead, the player must supply him a way to change the channels otherwise.  The solution?

Give Simon the golf club.  He can then use that to reach the TV's front-facing controls from the comfort of the sofa.  The player can then peacefully leave with the remote in tow.

The Blackwell series / Blackwell Deception Post Mortem
« on: November 19, 2011, 08:11:25 AM »
One of my favorite things about Blackwell Convergence was reading the Gamasutra Post Mortem feature you wrote about the game.  It helped provide some great insight into your design process and if nothing else was an informative, entertaining read.  As a person who's always wanted to make games, I would be quite grateful if you were to write a Post Mortem article about Blackwell Deception even if it was only published on your blog or Web site.  Thank you for your consideration.
