Primordia / Cannot install off the DVD
« on: February 15, 2013, 02:09:21 PM »
Setup is asking for PrimordiaSetupDVD-1a.bin, when the file on the disc is called Primordia-1a.bin. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell the installer that the file has a different name and the only solution I found was to copy the file onto my computer and rename it there.

Primordia / GOG codes?
« on: December 05, 2012, 02:03:00 PM »
Well, I got my email from BMT Micro and notice it mentions Steam keys but not GOG keys. Are they out of the question? It's nice to have a longer term digital backup, since the BMT Micro links seem to expire after a while.

EDIT: Quote from the other topic.

I am hoping so! They gave me Resonance codes so I assume they'll give me codes for Primordia as well.

Hmm, I have a feeling you have to request them.

Resonance / What's the latest version?
« on: November 21, 2012, 02:34:25 PM »
Have there been any updates to Resonance since the discs were produced? I just want to know whether I'm fine to install off the disc or would I be better off downloading one of the digital copies I got?

I want to be running the latest version but I don't want to waste bandwidth if I can help it.

Emerald City Confidential / PlayFirst discontinues PC/Mac games

It seems like they're not going to even sell them any more. I wonder if this will allow Dave to buy back (or at least licence?) Emerald City Confidential so he can sell it DRM-free here?

Resonance / Argh, import duty on the boxed edition!
« on: August 25, 2012, 12:14:50 PM »
Got a card through my door today saying there's a parcel due for me but there's 11.19* duty to pay! That's about $17.50, which seems like a lot for a $25 game.

Anyone who's already got theirs, how much did the customs declaration on the parcel say? (actually it probably does say $25, see below)

I wish they'd done what Telltale do and treat the DVD as an extra to the download. So buying the boxed edition cost $25, but that included a download and the box. The download alone costs $10, so logically the box costs $15. Even $22 would have been low enough to not trigger the vampires (the threshold for import duty is 15 as it turns out and it's disproportionately expensive for amounts just over 15 because there's a flat fee**).

*I worked out that this is in fact correct. $25 is about 15.95, 20% of 15.95 is 3.19.

**3.19 + the 8 administration fee is 11.19. =(
