Chit Chat! / New barrage of spam

Hey Dave,

Just wanted to draw your attention to the new spam attacks. They seem to be clustering in the Gemini Rue and Emerald City Confidential sections.

Best of luck,

P.S: Maybe Tomo can help with your security needs! c:

Chit Chat! / Re: Kathy Rain

I did the VO directing for this game and spoke to Joel a lot about the plot. And even now, I'm STILL not sure what entirely was going on! :)

A sequel is definitely in order. Hopefully sales will pick up and it'll happen.

Chit Chat! / Kathy Rain
« on: January 07, 2017, 04:57:25 PM »
Hi everyone!

I'd seen Kathy Rain floating around the internet for some time and finally decided to give it a try. When I did I was surprised to hear/see that a lot of WadjetEye regulars were involved in its production/VO.

Anyway, while I thoroughly enjoyed the game, I'm at a loss as to the final reveals. We beat the bad guy...I guess? There're a lot of unanswered questions and in the end, I'm not sure the mystery was solved. I mean, what was it that made Joseph and Eileen catatonic? What cured Eileen? What was the Crimson One's objective, and what exactly did Father Isaac do to his victims? Why didn't he harm Jimmy the same way he harmed Joseph? What happened with Lily? Is the Crimson One a person, or some kind of supernatural being? What about the three orbs? And the kid...was he real? Also, the entire nightmare sequence in the sinkhole. Was that all supernatural? Were those ghosts? Was Kathy high on all the flowers and hallucinating everything? So many questions. Kathy doesn't seem to understand what's going on either, but she doesn't seem particularly bothered by it.

So, any fan theories? What did you all think of the game?

Chit Chat! / Freeware Adaptations
« on: January 23, 2016, 03:35:39 AM »

Dave, I was wondering: Do you still have your freeware games lying around somewhere? I remember playing Bestowers and have vague memories of Two of a Kind. I was wondering if you ever considered adapting any of your old works? Or did you only feel that you wanted to tell the Bestower story?

This is awesome news! I've just finished my first beta-test of Shardlight, which I really enjoyed, and can't wait to test something new :)

Chit Chat! / Should I play Gabriel Knight 2 and 3?
« on: May 18, 2014, 06:43:16 AM »
I recently got myself a copy of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers and thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was challenging at times.

I've looked into playing the second and third games, but I'm really put off by the drastic change in art style from pixels and portraits to live action in the sequel and what looks like a bad version of the Sims in the third installment.

I dunno, I get the feeling that it wouldn't...feel the same. .

Any thoughts from those who have played the second and third installments?

The Blackwell series / Fan theories about Madeline

Who exactly was Madeline before she died? How did she die? How did a lady with a tiara end up in New York?

It sounds great! Unfortunately, I don't use Apple or have a Nintendo DS. I'll try scouting around for an Android or PC version. Thanks!

The Blackwell series / More games like Blackwell

Hi, fellow Blackwell fans!

Even though I beta-tested Blackwell Epiphany for a couple of months before its release, I still couldn't get enough Blackwell, so I replayed all the other games the past few nights.

I'm really, really gonna miss Rosa, Joey and the whole experience.

Has anyone played anything similar to Blackwell in terms of style (pixel art, character portraits) and/or theme (detective-mystery, ghosts)?

I'd like to discover similar games and developers.

The Blackwell series / Blackwell Unbound Re-make
« on: November 21, 2013, 05:36:20 AM »
As I'm sure most Blackwell fans know, Lauren will be returning for Blackwell Epiphany.

I was wondering....maybe after its release the team can work on a Blackwell Unbound re-make (adding character portraits 'n stuff). That would be amazing and I'm sure the fans would go nuts!

Been up so many hours on this game. That was obvious, lol. Got it. Perhaps I shouldn't have played it all in one shot.

Well, now I can't get the key to go into the lock at the Warehouse...
Since you can't skip puzzles, I guess I can't finish. Oh wells.

Resonance / Cannot move forward: Cellphone 14A? 14B?
« on: June 20, 2012, 05:01:20 PM »
Hi there!

I have reached the stage where Bennet and Ray are tracking the cellphone attached to the device found in Ed's apartment.

I have sucessfully tracked the number 14B, but it says that that is Bennet's number.
Um? This was the number on the device?

In online walkthroughs I've learnt you have to track 14A. That's not in my memory at all, and I've tried revisiting and re-analysing scenes.

I remember a 14A in Ed's phonebook, but how do I get it into Bennet's memory to track it and get to the warehouse?

What am I missing here? Something's off.

Other Games / Re: Stuck near the end? (Spoilers)

Hey there!

I just finished playing Puzzle Bots, and while the starter of this thread probably figured out the last puzzle months ago I thought I'd post a little guide for anyone else who struggles:

Puzzle Bots 'Final Boss' Puzzle:

N.B: The key to this puzzle is to use all the bots' abilities in the correct order and apply a bit of physics.

1. Control Bomchelle. Note that between Zander and Yuri's heads is a weak link in the chain holding them prisoner. You may attempt to bomb it, but your bomb will fall short (and hurt Zander's shoulder in the process).
2. Control Ibi. Roll over to the puddle below the shelf and tow the lid on the grate to enter a two-way pipe. The right pipe will lead you to a grate blocked by a toy soldier and a clump of gunk. Tow the toy soldier out of the pipe and onto land.
3. Control Hero. Pick up the gag that was on Zander's mouth and use it on the toy soldier to form a sort of parachute. Observe his 'fragile' gun and snap it off.
4. Control Ibi again. Tow the gunk to the opposite side of the pipe to lower the water level.
5. Control Kelvin. Move him into the pipe.
6. Control Ultrabot. Push the grate opening shut.
7. Control Hero. Place the parachute/soldier on the shut grate.
8. Control Kelvin again. Flame the bubbles.

The soldier's parachute will be inflated and it shall rise, landing on the weak link.

9. Control Bombchelle. Bomb the solider.

Note: You shall have to control Ibi every so often to prevent the gunk from flowing back into the right grate.

Good luck! Enjoy the cut scene.

Oh goodness.  How embarrassing.

No, actually, come to think of it, she may have used it... once, maybe?
