I really hope your next title will bring back gameplay, man was I starved for it all the way through. 

Can you give an example of a "good gameplay"? It's hard to tell what you mean.

Try disabling any antivirus or antimalware software that could block library execution.

You can also try manually verify file presence:
1) In Steam open Unavowed properties, select "Browse Local Files"
2) Right click in Unavowed in Finder, "Show Package Contents"
3) You should see following files under Contents > Resources:
libagsteam-unified.dylib
libagsteam.dylib
libsteam_api.dylib
