Shardlight / Re: just beat shardlight my thoughts HEAVY SPOLIERS

My favorite aspect of the game was the fact that Amy was dying of a fatal disease, something that you were always made aware of.  The gave the the story considerable power.  I agree that the character of Tiberius could have been fleshed out more.

Thanks Dave and Grundislav for the great news.  I'll be keeping my eye out for both games.

Shardlight / Loved Shardlight - What's next?
« on: March 14, 2016, 05:53:33 PM »
I downloaded Shardlight on 3-8 and finished it on 3-11.  What a wonderful, enjoyable experience.  Here are the elements that most appealed to me:
1-The art - absolutely great.  Ben Chandler is a genius.
2-The post apocalyptic setting.  I'm a sucker for games in that setting.
3-The story - very interesting, though I wish there were some more background given on the major characters, especially Amy and Tiberius.
4-The voice acting, especially the actress who voiced Amy.  She's terrific.

About the puzzles, I found them well-balanced and integrated into the story.  But I'm not a big puzzle person.

One issue I had with the story - I wish the characters' reactions were a bit more emotional.

Now the most important thing - what's next for the Grundislav, Chandler, Gilbert team?

I'm usually not a fan of sci-fi games but I thought Technobabylon was great.  No accounting for taste, I guess.

Technobabylon is a terrific game.  It combines a compelling story, interesting characters, cool sci-fi, good puzzles that actually fit into the context of the story, excellent art (thanks Ben), and great dialogue and voice acting.  The best adventure games are now coming from Wadjet Eye and I look forward to Shardlight.
I finished the game and I still think it rocks.
But I do have a couple of issues with it.
SPOILER ALERT!!

The game gave you a choice of villains and you could choose your ending depending on who you thought was the greater evil.  I prefer it when the situation is more clear-cut.

Also I felt that the game relied too much on a gay stereotype, which became tedious after awhile.

What's your operating system and how much RAM do you have?

Hmm, I don't have that problem and I play in fullscreen.  I have Win 8.1 and 8G ram so maybe that's the reason.

I played the freeware games and thought they were great.  But since I've played the demo I realize the new version is much, much better.

I've played several of your games at this point - Blackwell Series, Resonance, Gemini Rue, Shivah and Primordia.  And I know I'm buying Technobabylon when it's released.  Every one of these games has been very satisfying.  I'm especially fond of your newer games which have Ben Chandler as the graphics designer.

So my question is - what's next for Wadjet Eye?

Count me as another who loved the game - up until the ending.

In order to get out of the room you have to go into trance mode and get familiar with how the "wetware" works.

I played the game when it was on AGS but this version is much better for many reasons.  One is Ben Chandler's art - it's always a pleasure to enter his world.
