Title: New Website!
Post by: JanG on May 23, 2011, 01:44:08 PM
Any comments, feedback on the new website?

We want to make sure the website looks good in all browsers, so if you see a bug, tell us what seems wrong and what browser & version number you are using.

Thanks!

Since I had always used the link from the forum to access the website, I can't get to it now as I dont' see a link to it here on the forum.  All of that sort thing isn't here any more.  Is it going to be put back?
Thanks
Jackie

Hi Jackie.  We've embedded the forum within the website itself, so there's no real need for that anymore.  I assume you have a bookmark that goes directly to the forum?  If so, try using this link instead: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/discussion.html

It won't work any more - I moved it back to http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/forum

Technical reasons :)

Hi Janet and Dave.  The site looks terrific!  I came by just to see if anything was new (as I do from time to time), and the layout impressed me right away.  The randomized screenshot gallery on the right is a great idea!  The game buttons on the left are modern and handsome, and they match the tabs along the top well.  Most importantly, the use of protagonists' profiles on the left side of each button draws in the curious visitor while fostering a subtle psychological impression that each game is part of a set, which encourages customers to view multiple products.  I think that this kind of uniform presentation is important for browsing a portfolio, library, or catalog, and you really got it right.

Nicely done.  I hope that business is strong, and I look forward to seeing some new games from you guys soon.

Thanks much, Internisus (awesome name)!  We spent ages agonizing over what to go with.  I know I spent a long time studying other sites to see what we liked.  Eventually I threw a design together and Janet coded it.  Glad to see that our choices were the right ones.

Love the new design for the site! Definitely cleaner and slicker. I do kind of miss the more detailed game info, though, like the cast and character details.

Yeah, I wanted to streamline everything and the character/cast/staff stuff was the first to go.  It was nice to have, but when push came to shove it was just fluff and it made a mess of the site.  An average customer wouldn't care about any of it.

I've upgraded the forum today. Hopefully we'll get less spammers!

Hey, after seeing your tweet about switching to BMT for transactions, I decided to see what the new front end looked like yesterday.

I noticed that the soundtracks for the Blackwell series no longer show up, or at least I am not finding them where I expected to.

You know... you're right!  I never put the soundtracks in there.  I'll put those back in soon.
