Title: Loved Shardlight - What's next?
Post by: AndyfromVA on March 14, 2016, 05:53:33 PM
I downloaded Shardlight on 3-8 and finished it on 3-11.  What a wonderful, enjoyable experience.  Here are the elements that most appealed to me:
1-The art - absolutely great.  Ben Chandler is a genius.
2-The post apocalyptic setting.  I'm a sucker for games in that setting.
3-The story - very interesting, though I wish there were some more background given on the major characters, especially Amy and Tiberius.
4-The voice acting, especially the actress who voiced Amy.  She's terrific.

About the puzzles, I found them well-balanced and integrated into the story.  But I'm not a big puzzle person.

One issue I had with the story - I wish the characters' reactions were a bit more emotional.

Now the most important thing - what's next for the Grundislav, Chandler, Gilbert team?

Sequel to Blackwell series

Not a sequel as such. I *am* working on another urban fantasy game called Unavowed, which will have tenuous connections to Blackwell. But it's not a sequel. :)

And I am in the early design stages of what I can best describe as a "steampunk-ish" detective game.

Oh god, that sounds awesome. Love detective adventures, I'm dying to play a detective Wadjet Eye game. The steampunk setting will give us beautiful designs for sure. HYPE.

Good luck! Definitely want to see something from you again, urban fantasies are very interesting to explore and play. :)

You meant 8 of the 3rd and 11 of the 3rd .

Why do Americans use such a bad and confusing date format ?

Who made you a mod?

And these forums are run by Americans, on an American-hosted server.

A cultural thing, I guess. My wife (who is British) would usually say "the 8th of March" whereas I would say "March 8th." Our date format reflects that.

Thanks Dave and Grundislav for the great news.  I'll be keeping my eye out for both games.
